I am an American of Italian lineage who takes great pride in sans heritage and I thoroughly enjoy all the tasty treats that comes with the territory, including pasta.
Enter in Dr. Dukan who says give it up. He does suggest an alternative, Shirataki noodles.
It's not going to happen here.
I think it looks digusting swimming in water and the smell puts me off.
Up until two days ago, I have not eaten a single bite of Pasta since I started the Diet.
Then I had a terrible notion.
Pasta is a high carb item and not suitable for a long term low carb lifestyle that I'm adopting.
There is no way that I'm going to give up Pasta forever.
I began to wonder if there was a tasty low carb option.
And then I remembered something very important.
Two years ago I met a woman whose husband is the owner of Dreamfields Pasta, which is low carb pasta and I completely forgot about that. (BTW, I taught her how to knit.)
Eureka, I shouted.
I raided Publix, bringing home Linguine and Lasgana noodles.
I boiled up a single serving of the Linguine, according to the directions and smothered it with Progresso White Clam Sauce. The house smelled heavenly.
The single serving was massive so I only ate half.
And I am happy to report that the half that I ate was delicious.
The remainder went in the fridge and after the dinner dishes were washed I took a three mile walk to counter balance stepping across the line.
So there you go.
I can have pasta on occassion without the guilt.
P.S. The scale reported a loss the next morning! Even better.
I'm with you. Giving up pasta for life is unrealistic. Thanks for the PSA on this product!!!
