After my declaration of war last week, I decided to ease the pressure and frustration from my weight loss stagnation.
I made a choice. If I'm going to stray from the Dukan Diet plan for a short period of time I was going to make healthy choices and not consume garbage. Only quality food for me.
Since I have been craving fresh squeezed Orange Juice with nothing added so I purchase a 16 oz cup of the naturally sweet liquid at Sugar Apple. I savored it and it was divine. I also snapped up an organic dark chocolate bar with Goji Berries and Hazelnuts and brought that home to nibble on later on in the day. I ate half of the bar by sundown. Mmmmmm!
I declared that I was not going to cook dinner and the Guys opted for Quiznos. I got the Mediterranean Chicken Salad, with chickpeas, black olives, tomatoes and onions. Yumm-O! I used the dressing that came with it. Again, I was satisfied.
I have no regrets nor any guilt. Life is too short to punish myself over what I eat.
That night I felt it would be best for my mental health it would be if I just ate proteins and veg for a week and relax.
Thursday mornings weigh in came around and guess what? I lost weight 138.8 lbs.
Not much, but a loss is a loss.
Go figure that one out.
I did not take a walk nor did I eat what was originally planned. Wednesday is PP day for me. For the rest of the week I skipped my evening walk and just ate exclusively from the approved food list with one exception. I nibble at the chocolate bar.
The weight-loss continued to drop little by little and by Sunday, my weight was down to 138 lbs.
I was not terribly excited because I have seen that number 3 times in the past 17 days. But for a few seconds while I was on the scale 137 flashed by, which was nice because I've never seen that before. I'm getting closer.
For dinner that night I ate a bit of sushi with white rice, about 1/4 cup worth and polished off the remains of the chocolate bar for dessert.
Monday morning at the scale read 137.6 lbs!
Tuesday morning was back to 138 lbs. Bouncing around is normal for me.
That day, I did eat an egg roll that Flying Squid brought home and two wontons from his soup. He offered and I accepted gladly.
I did not get my walk in because we were house bound from the heavy rains that came up from Cuba and I was to lazy to break out a Leslie Sansone DVD.
Today, I'm holding steady at 138 lbs but then again I'm at the height of PMS.
The days of eating unauthorized foods are over.
It's back to the straight and narrow for me.
And that concludes the Dukan Drama for this week and in a few days I should start dropping weight again.
Fingers crossed.
Hi Abigail
It's good to see you back on the straight and narrow but as you say life's too short to knock yourself out over what you eat.
